Kenya women withdraw from Hockey Olympic Qualifier

Lausanne, Mar 11 (UNI) Due to political turmoil in the country, Kenya has withdrawn from the women's Olympic hockey Qualifier to be played in Baku, Azerbaijan from April 12-20.

Kenya Hockey Union (KHU) has conveyed it's decision to the International Hockey Federation (FIH).

The FIH wanted a replacement team, but could not get one. As a result the competition will now be a five-nation tournament.

Azerbaijan, Belarus, Chile, Spain and Ukraine will compete for the one spot at the Beijing Olympic Games.
