Motilal Nehru Sports School wins IPSC Hockey

Patiala, Oct 7 (UNI) Motilal Nehru Sports School, Rai (Sonepat) won the 22nd All India IPSC Hockey Tournament, beating Punjab Public School, Nabha by 3-2 in the last Round Robin match here today at the Yadavindra Public School ground.

Earlier Yadavindra Public School (YPS) whipped Bhawan Sawan School, Delhi by 18-0 to earn the third place. Imanveer Pannu was the star performer. He scored 12 goals and 27 in the Tournament to be declared the best player of the tournament. PPS, Nabha, were the runners-up.

In the morning session today, YPS and Rai team played the most absorbing and exciting match seen in the tournament. For YPS, Imanveer Pannu scored a brilliant hat-trick on the grassy field, though it was not enough to beat the formidable Rai team which did not lose a single match in the tournament. The drawn match (3-3) saw some brilliant moves and pulsating moments and hockey was at its best.
