No issues with security arrangements in New Delhi: Pak hockey team manager

By Super Admin

Karachi, Feb.25 (ANI): A day after Pakistan hockey coach Shahid Ali Khan described the security arrangements in New Delhi as 'nothing extraordinary', team manager Asif Bajwa has reasserted that there are no issues with the security blanket put in place by the Indian authorities.

Bajwa, who is also the secretary of the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF), said the players and officials have no problem with the security and are feeling safe in New Delhi, where the Hockey World Cup would be played from February 28 to March 31.

"We have no issues with the security. It is fine," The News quoted Bajwa, as saying.

However, insiders said some officials are concerned about the way the team bus is exposed to heavy traffic while commuting from hotel to the National Stadium and they are likely to raise the issue during a security briefing, which is scheduled to be held today (Thursday).

The briefing will be attended by Delhi Police Commissioner Y S Dadwal, International Hockey Federation president Leandro Negre and managers of the 12 participating teams. (ANI)
