Bhopal, Sep 26: Northern Railway (NR) have vanquished their Western counterparts (WR) 3-1 in an action-packed final of the 29th All India Inter-Railway Women's Hockey Championship at the Goregaon Astroturf Ground here.

Yesterday's first goal was scored in the 15th minute by NR's Ramneek in the 15th minute and WR's Surajlata equalised three minutes later. In the 27th minute, Sita Mehta put one more goal in NR's kitty. In the next half, Samarjeet scored the winning goal in the 49th minute.

Several WR attacks failed due to last-minute lack of coordination.

West Central Railway General Manager Maheep Kapoor and WCR Mahila Kalyan Sangathan Chairperson Bittu Kapoor awarded the trophy.
