The Indian Men's Hockey team sealed their semi-final berth in Paris Olympics 2024 after they showed some resilient defending to overcome Great Britain 1-1 (4-2 SO) with 10 men for most part of the Quarter-Finals on Sunday (August 4).
Captain Harmanpreet Singh opened the scoring for India in the 22nd minute, while Lee Morton quickly responded, scoring a levelled in the 27th minute for the Great Britain as the match ended with score tied at 1-1 in the regular time, forcing the game into the shootout.

In the shootout, India converted all their chances, while veteran goalkeeper PR Sreejesh denied the Brits twice to win the match 4-2 SO. Harmanpreet Singh, Sukhjeet Singh, Lalit Kumar Upadhyay, and Raj Kumar Pal successfully converted their chances for India in the shootout.
For Great Britain, James Albery and Zach Wallace scored, but Conor Williamson's shot was off target and Philip Roper's attempt was saved by India's stalwart goalkeeper Sreejesh. This secured a 4-2 shootout victory for the Indian team, also making them the first team to reach the semi-final in Paris.

The Olympics 2024 men's hockey semi-finals is scheduled to be held on Tuesday (August 6) with the first semi-final set to start at 5:30 PM IST, while the second semi-final will be staged at 10:30 PM IST.
India's semi-final against Germany will be played at the 10:30 PM IST on Tuesday (August 6). Both the semi-final matches will be played at the Stade Yves-du-Manoir in Paris, France.
