The Indian men's hockey team will aim to finish on the podium for the second successive Olympics when they lock horns with Spain in the Paris 2024 hockey bronze medal match at the Yves-du-Manoir Stadium in Colombes on Thursday (August 8).
The Tokyo 2020 bronze medal-winning Indian team had a great chance to upgrade the colour of their medal, but suffered a narrow 3-2 loss against world No. 2 Germany in the semi-finals earlier in the week.

Spain also had a chance to enter their fourth final, but they too faltered in the semifinal, which they lost to world No. 1 Netherlands by 4-0. Now, both teams will be more than happy leave Paris with a medal.

The Spain men's hockey team has never won a gold medal in the Olympics, but came very close to being crowned champions, having finished runners up in three editions. In addition to their three silvers, Spain has won bronze medal once so far and also lost the bronze medal match two times.
Australia, the ten-time Olympic medallist, has won the most bronze medals so far, having won the copper metal five times followed by Great Britain, who have won bronze four times. India, Germany and Netherlands have finished third three times each.
