Pakistan likely to withdraw from Asia Cup Hockey Tournament

Lahore, May 24 (UNI) Pakistan are likely to withdraw its name from the forthcoming seven nations Asia Cup hockey tournament to be held in Chennai in September due to disagreements over terms and conditions with the organisers.

According to the Dawn, the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) which has been exchanging views with the organisers over terms and conditions of the tourney, has decided against taking part in the event.

Meanwhile, PHF secretary Khalid Mahmood said the federation was considering an invitation and had sought some clarifications from the organisers on some terms and conditions.

''A final decision is yet to be taken,'' he informed.

Apart from Pakistan. the Asia Cup will feature host India, South Korea, Malaysia, China, Bangladesh and Japan.
