The six teams in the competition are India, Pakistan, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, and the nation China. Pakistan, a historically successful team in this tournament, aims to regain their dominance.
This esteemed competition is overseen by the Asian Hockey Federation and follows a round-robin format. Each team plays against every other team during the league stage. The top four teams progress to the semifinals, while the remaining two teams compete for fifth place. In the previous edition of the tournament, Pakistan were the beaten finalists at the hands of India.
