PHF announces junior team for Test series against India

Lahore, Nov 3 (UNI) The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) named a strong 20-member junior team for a five-Test home series against India to be played later this month.

Full-back Muhammad Ateeq has been retained as the captain of the team, while Olympian Kashif Ali will be his deputy.

The team was named by chief selector Hasan Sardar yesterday from among the 36-probables after one-day trials at Hockey Club of Pakistan.

The opening Test of the series will be played at HCP on November 12.

Team: Imran Shah, Waqas Ahmed (goalkeepers), Kashif Ali, Muhammad Ateeq, Imran Abbas (full-backs) M Irfan, Zaheer Ahmed, Aamir Shehzad, Fareed Ahmed,M.Rashid (half backs), Adeel Hussain, Shafiq Raso; captain, Haseem Khan, M Zubair, Shabaz, Rizwan, Taufeeq, Yasir, Hasan Akhtar, Azlan Khan (forwards).

Officials: Qamar Ibrahim (Chief coach) Danish Kaleem, Ahmed Alam (coaches), Faiz-ur-Rehman (physio) and Nadeem Lodhi (video analyst).
