Prime Minister honours Asia Cup winning hockey team

New Delhi, Oct 31 (UNI) It was a day to cherish for the Asia Cup winning Indian hockey team as they were felicitated by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at his residence here today.

After honouring the Twenty20 World Cup Cricket winning squad yesterday, the Prime Minister and his wife Gursharan Kaur hosted the 'much neglected' hockey players who did the country proud.

Captain Prabodh Tirkey and his teammates were at the Prime Minister's rersidence for over 20 minutes and interacted with Dr Singh and his wife.

The Prime Minister congratulated each member of the team and presented them with mementoes for their splendid show.

The players also presented a hockey stick to the Prime Minister.
