New Delhi, March 27: Roundglass Hockey Academy (RGHA) was on Friday (March 27) honoured with the Hockey India President Award for Outstanding Achievement 2025 at the 8th Hockey India Annual Awards, recognising the academy's contribution to grassroots development and its role in reviving hockey culture in Punjab.
The recognition highlighted RGHA's continued efforts to strengthen hockey at the grassroots level by creating structured development pathways and nurturing young talent across the state.

Adding to the academy's achievements on the night, RGHA goalkeeper Princedeep Singh was named the Hockey India Jugraj Singh Award winner for Upcoming Player of the Year 2025 (Men - U21).
The award recognised Princedeep's rapid progress as one of the promising young goalkeepers in Indian hockey and further underscored the academy's success in producing high-quality talent.
The Hockey India President Award for Outstanding Achievement was presented by Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, the Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, who also holds the Labour and Employment portfolio.
RGHA received the honour through Sarpal Singh, Rajinder Singh, Ashfaque Ullah Khan, and Harbinder Singh, representing the academy at the prestigious ceremony.
'A Testament to Reviving Punjab Hockey'
Reflecting on the recognition, Sarpal Singh, Founding Director of Roundglass Sports, emphasised the academy's long-term commitment to rebuilding the hockey ecosystem in Punjab.

Hockey India's President Award highlighted Roundglass Sports' focus on building sustainable talent pathways.
RGHA currently operates a network of grassroots and development centres across Punjab, offering structured coaching programmes designed to identify and nurture young athletes. The academy also provides international-standard infrastructure, sports science support, and athlete wellbeing initiatives as part of its player development model.
Princedeep Singh joined RGHA in 2022 and has since developed into a regular presence in goal through the academy's training system. His performances have helped him earn opportunities with the Indian men's hockey setup, including selection for the FIH Men's Junior World Cup and involvement with the senior national team environment.
The twin honours - one for institutional excellence and the other for individual promise - capped a memorable evening for Roundglass Hockey Academy at the Hockey India Annual Awards.
