Hockey India announced on Sunday the 18-member Indian Junior Men's Hockey Team that will compete in the 12th edition of the Sultan of Johor Cup in Malaysia. Newly appointed Head Coach PR Sreejesh will lead the team, with Amir Ali as Captain and Rohit serving as his deputy.
The goalkeeping icon Sreejesh, who retired from international hockey after helping India win a bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics in August, will take on his first role as a junior national team coach.

India will kick off their campaign against Japan on 19th October, followed by a showdown with Great Britain on the 20th. After a day's rest, they will face hosts Malaysia on 22nd October, before taking on Australia the next day.
In their final group stage match on 25th October, India will go up against New Zealand, aiming for a top-two finish in the pool to secure a spot in the Final on 26th October.
Defender Amir Ali and forward Gurjot Singh were key members of the Indian Men's Hockey Team that successfully defended their title at the 2024 Asian Champions Trophy in Moqi, China.
Amir stepped up effortlessly to replace the injured Sanjay in defense, while Gurjot, leading the forward line throughout the tournament, demonstrated remarkable potential.
