At the 2020 Tokyo Games, he, along with shooter Veronika Vadovicova and cyclist Jozef Metelka, each achieved a career Paralympic medal tally of six. This set a new record for the National Paralympic Committee (NPC) of Slovakia. Metelka was the first to reach this milestone, followed by him and then Vadovicova.
His achievements also include becoming the first Slovakian athlete to win four gold medals in any sport at the Paralympic Games. He secured his fourth gold medal at the 2012 London Games in the TT1-2 team event.
He lives by the philosophy, "The only handicap is a negative attitude." This mindset has driven him to excel both on and off the field. In recognition of his contributions to Para sport in Slovakia, he received the Order of Ludovit Stur (third class) from the president of Slovakia in 2006.
Since 2003, he has served as chairperson of the Slovak Paralympic Committee (SPV). He was re-elected for his sixth term in 2022, motivated by state secretary Ivan Husar. He also chairs the Slovak Association of Physically Handicapped Athletes (SZTPS) and was a tournament director at the 2017 World Team Championships in Bratislava.
Looking ahead, he aims to compete at the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris. This ambition reflects his enduring commitment to Para sport and his desire to continue representing Slovakia on the global stage.
His journey is a testament to dedication and resilience. As he prepares for future challenges, his past achievements serve as an inspiration for athletes worldwide.
