Throughout his career, he has been guided by coaches Cho Jae-Kwan and Kwak Ho-Keun. Coach Kwak Ho-Keun has been a significant influence on him. Their guidance has been instrumental in shaping his career and helping him achieve numerous milestones.
He believes in maintaining a positive mindset, a philosophy that has undoubtedly contributed to his success. In recognition of his contributions to sports, he was awarded the Cheongnyong Medal in 2021. This is the highest honour in the Republic of Korea's Order of Sport Merit.
Outside of table tennis, he enjoys diving. He is married to Han Jin-Ah and speaks Korean fluently. He currently plays for Gwangju Metropolitan City and continues to train under the guidance of his coaches.
