The Asian Kabaddi Championship is a kabaddi tournament organized by the respective countries with teams from across the continent of Asia battling for the place on the podium.
The first-ever edition was held in 1980. Unlike many other continental events, the Asian Kabaddi Championships is not held in a particular or time frame. So far, there has been eight editions in the men's event.

Teams from across Asia compete in the event with the likes of India, Iran, Pakistan, Korea, Bangladesh, Japan, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Nepal all winning a medal so far at the event.
India is the most successful nation in the Asian Kabaddi Championship, having been crowned the champions eight times in nine editions of the men's tournament, while Iran is the next best team, having won the title once.
In most editions, there have been silver and bronze medallists for the men's event with the champions receiving a gold medal. Pakistan and Bangladesh have finished runners up the most, having lost the title match two times each.
Sri Lanka, Japan and Malaysia have also finished in second place once each, while Iran has finished third to claim a bronze medal the most. The men's edition of the tournament has been held in 1980, 1988, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2005 and 2017.
So far, there have been nine gold medallists, eight silver medallists and six bronze medallists. India, Malaysia and Iran have hosted the tournament twice each, while Sri Lanka and Thailand have played hosts once. Here is a look at the medallists along with hosts of all editions.
