Bengaluru Bulls Replace Randhir Singh Sehrawat With Two-Time PKL Winning Coach BC Ramesh

By MyKhel Staff

Bengaluru Bulls on Tuesday (January 28) announced two-time PKL winning coach BC Ramesh as their new head coach after the release of long-time trainer Randhir Singh Sehrawat from the role.

This ended a 11-year bond between the Bulls and Randhir, who was the only coach that had been with a single franchise as a coach since the inception of the PKL. Under his guidance, the Bulls had lifted the title in season six.

Additionally, the team had reached the knockout stage in six seasons, including the playoffs round. However, following a bottom-place finish in the recent PKL Season 11, Bulls have looked for a fresh start going into the next edition.

"For over a decade, "Coach Saab" Randhir has been a cornerstone of our team's journey, playing an integral role in shaping the success and achievements we have celebrated together. His dedication and leadership have left a lasting impact on the Bengaluru Bulls family," Bengaluru Bulls released a statement on its social media platforms.

"We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Coach Randhir for his invaluable contributions and wish him nothing but the very best in his future endeavors," the statement further read.

"We would also like to honour Randhir Singh Sehrawat, who has been the strength of Bengaluru Bulls for the past 11 seasons. His extraordinary contributions and unwavering spirit have left a remarkable mark on our team, and for that, we will always be grateful," Bengaluru Bulls CEO said in a statement.

Just hours after the announcement of Randhir Sehrawat's departure, Bengaluru Bulls named BC Ramesh as their new head coach. Ramesh was the assistant coach under Randhir when the Bulls lifted their only PKL trophy in the 2018-19 season.

BC Ramesh won PKL titles with Bengal Warriors in 2019 (PKL season 7) and Puneri Paltan in the 2023-24 (PKL season 10), but resigned from his role after the group stage of PKL season 11 as the then reigning champions struggled to finish in the top six.

The Bengaluru Bulls CEO Kirthi Muralikrishnan in her statement said the franchise has listened to the fans voice and is excited to announce Karnataka pride and Arjuna awardee Ramesh as the new head coach.

"As we step into a new era for Bengaluru Bulls, we embrace the vital need for change and growth in our strategies. We have listened to our fans and are excited to announce the appointment of our beloved Karnataka pride and esteemed Arjuna awardee, BC Ramesh, as our new head coach," Bulls CEO added.

"His leadership along with Randhir Sehrawat has already brought us a championship trophy in Season 6, and we are confident he will inspire us to soar even higher.

"While we welcome these transformative changes, our unwavering commitment to promoting Kabaddi, discovering new talent and nurturing their potential remains at the core of our mission. Your voices have always guided us and we cherish your support as we embark on this thrilling journey together.

"With Season 12 on the horizon, we promise an incredible adventure filled with renewed energy, fresh perspective and passionate determination. We hope to have all your support and love as we continue to serve you!"
