Haryana Steelers Unite with Sheroes Cafe to Empower Acid Attack Survivors

The Haryana Steelers, leaders in the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL), showcased their support for acid attack survivors at Sheroes Cafe in Noida Indoor Stadium. This event, hosted by the Chhanv Foundation, celebrated the resilience of survivors who have overcome immense adversity.

They now find empowerment through their work at Sheroes. The cafe, a beacon of hope, provides financial independence, skill-building opportunities, and community support to these women. During the visit, the Steelers emphasized their commitment to women's empowerment by engaging directly with the survivors.

Players had heartfelt conversations with the women, listening to their inspiring stories of courage and determination. Many survivors shared their aspirations and interests, including a mutual passion for kabaddi. Vinay, a prominent raider for the Steelers, reflected on the experience.

He stated, "Their strength and resilience are truly inspiring. The challenges we face on the kabaddi court are nothing compared to their battles. They've taught us the power of perseverance." Teammate Shivam Anil Patare added, "The positivity here is infectious. Despite their hardships, these women tackle each day with unwavering spirit. They are the real champions."

Another team member, Sankara, remarked, "Sheroes Cafe isn't just a restaurant; it's a symbol of hope and empowerment." A highlight of the event was a symbolic jersey exchange. The Steelers gifted their jerseys to the Sheroes staff, who in turn presented the team with Sheroes t-shirts. This gesture symbolized mutual respect and unity.

The players also showed genuine interest in the survivors' lives and how Sheroes has transformed their outlook, providing them with new opportunities and purpose. Akriti, a Chhanv Foundation officer, highlighted the long-standing support of the local sports community.

The Steelers' support has brought invaluable visibility to our cause." This event underscored the need to support acid attack survivors.
