The Kabaddi Champions League (KCL) took a decisive step towards its maiden season on December 28, 2025, as all eight franchises finalised their squads during the league's first-ever player auction held in Gurugram.

With 128 players finding teams, the auction not only shaped the competitive balance of the tournament but also underlined the league's ambition to create a strong professional pathway for kabaddi talent emerging from local akharas and state circuits.

Franchises showed a clear intent to blend experience with potential, making bold bids for proven performers while also investing in young prospects who could grow into match-winners. The night belonged to aggressive planning and long-term vision rather than cautious spending.

Bhiwani Bulls made the loudest statement by landing the highest bid of the auction, signing experienced right raider Devank Dalal for ₹19.2 lakh. Their squad was further reinforced with names like Pravesh Malik, Hitesh Kadian and Deepak Singh, giving them a well-rounded raiding unit backed by stability.

Sonipat Stars emerged with one of the strongest cores, building their team around left raider Ayan Lochab, who went for ₹18.4 lakh, the second-highest bid. With Navdeep Duhan, Mohit Kaushik and a balanced mix of defenders and raiders, Sonipat appear well-equipped for the long season.

Faridabad Fighters showed faith in Jaideep Dahiya, securing him for ₹17.4 lakh. Supported by Yogesh Dahiya, Ankit Jaglan and Ghanshyam Roka Magar, the Fighters focused on defensive solidity complemented by smart raiding options.

Karnal Kings made Sunil Malik their marquee signing at ₹14.2 lakh, while also adding Surender Gill and Akshit Dhull. Their squad reflects a strategy centred on consistency and depth across positions.

Hisar Heroes opted for attacking firepower by acquiring right raider Ashu Malik for ₹12.2 lakh. With defenders like Surjeet Singh, Nitesh Kumar and Saurabh Nandal, Hisar assembled one of the most balanced rosters.

Panipat Panthers invested heavily in all-round strength, headlined by Ankit Jaglan, alongside Narender Kandola and Meetu Sharma. Their squad suggests flexibility and tactical adaptability.

Gurugram Gurus placed their trust in Neeraj Narwal as their top buy, adding support players such as Sanjay Dhull to ensure balance across departments.

Rohtak Royals completed the auction with Vijay Malik as their most expensive pick, supported by Rakesh Singroha and Sandeep Deswal, rounding off a competitive unit.
