Kabaddi Champions League Expands to 10 Teams With Jind Jaguars, Kurukshetra Knights

New Delhi, September 2026: The Kabaddi Champions League (KCL) is set for an expanded second season after adding Jind Jaguars and Kurukshetra Knights to its franchise line-up.

The two new teams take the league's total number of franchises to 10, marking another step in KCL's efforts to build a wider and more competitive kabaddi ecosystem. The expansion is also expected to provide additional opportunities for players and emerging talent to perform on a larger stage.

KCL Chairman Balwan Singh welcomed the addition of the two franchises, describing their inclusion as an important development for the league and its player-development structure.

"The addition of Jind Jaguars and Kurukshetra Knights strengthens the KCL ecosystem. It is a positive step for the league and for the development of kabaddi talent. With more franchises coming into the league, we are creating more opportunities for players to compete at a high level and showcase their ability," Singh said.

Singh also pointed to the league's contribution to player development, noting that nine of the 12 players selected at the next level had come through the KCL system.

"The biggest validation of our ecosystem is the players who have progressed through it. Nine out of the 12 players were from this league, which shows the quality of talent being developed through the KCL franchise system," he added.

With Jind Jaguars and Kurukshetra Knights joining the competition, KCL Season 2 will feature 10 franchises and is expected to bring additional rivalries, supporters and opportunities for players.

The league will look to build on its inaugural campaign as it enters its second season, with franchise growth, competitive kabaddi and talent development remaining central to its plans.
