In a nail-biting contest at Wolverhampton, defending champions India were held to a dramatic 64-64 draw by a spirited Scotland side in their second Group B match of the Kabaddi World Cup 2025.

India started strong, quickly taking a 7-4 lead within the first few minutes. The defending champions inflicted an early all-out on Scotland, surging to a 12-8 advantage.

However, the Scots responded resiliently, leveling the score at 22-22 and eventually taking a narrow 30-29 lead at halftime.

The second half witnessed an intense see-saw battle, with both teams exchanging leads. India briefly gained the upper hand at 39-40, but Scotland's determined raiding and effective super tackles kept them ahead. The match remained fiercely competitive, reaching 44-44 with no clear winner in sight.

Despite India's efforts, Scotland maintained pressure, establishing a four-point lead at 53-48. India fought back courageously, eventually taking a slender 62-61 lead in the dying minutes. However, Scotland's defense held firm, securing a crucial super tackle to regain their advantage.

With both teams refusing to back down, the match concluded in a thrilling 64-64 draw, marking a memorable performance by Scotland against the defending champions. The Scots celebrated the result like a victory, while India will aim to regroup ahead of their next match.

Following this victory, the defending Champions lead the Group B standings by virtue of more score difference than Scotland, who also have now a win and a draw in their bag making the group stage even more intense as the tournament progresses.

The Indians will next face Hong Hong China, while the Scotts take on Italy on 19th Match.
