The anticipation for the upcoming Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) 2024 season is growing, with the tournament set to begin on October 18.
Among the top contenders, Patna Pirates, the most decorated team in PKL history, have put together an impressive squad for the new season. During the PKL 2024 Auction, they made some calculated moves to enhance their raiding and defensive units. Notably, they acquired international raider Jang Kun Lee for INR 17.50 lakh and defender Shubham Shinde for INR 70 lakh.

In addition, the Pirates also added all-rounder Gurdeep for INR 59 lakh, adding depth and versatility to their squad. Last season, Patna Pirates finished 6th in the league stage and secured a playoff spot. However, their campaign was cut short in the semifinals, where they fell to a strong Puneri Paltan side. This year, they will be aiming to go further and reclaim their dominant position in the league.
Patna Pirates begin their quest for a fourth title on October 21, where they take on Puneri Paltan in Hyderabad, whom they lost against in the semi final last season. They will face the Gujarat Giants on November 11 first up in the Noida leg and clash against Haryana Steelers on December 6 for their first encounter of the Pune leg.
The Pirates from Patna will unfortunately not be in action in front of their home crowd as the tournament this season will be held only across three cities.
The Hyderabad leg will see Patna Pirates play seven games before they head to Noida and Pune, where they will play eight and seven games each respectively.
