PKL 12 Player Auction

Over 500 Players in the Fray

This year's auction boasts a diverse pool of players, including Indian stars like Pawan Sehrawat, Arjun Deshwal, Ashu Malik, and Devank Dalal, PKL 11's top raider. International stalwarts such as Fazel Atrachali and Mohammadreza Shadloui also headline the auction. Interestingly, for the first time, all PKL champions from Seasons 1 to 11 are available for bidding.

Some big names in the mix include:

    • Pardeep Narwal (Seasons 3-5 champion)
    • Naveen Kumar (Season 8 winner, entering the auction for the first time)
    • Maninder Singh
    • Fazel Atrachali
    • Mohammadreza Shadloui

What's New in PKL 12 Auction?

A major change this season is the revamped Final Bid Match (FBM) rule, designed to encourage continuity and long-term team-building.

Updated FBM Rule Explained

Teams can now retain a player through FBM for either one or two seasons, depending on which FBM card they raise when a former player receives the highest bid from another team.

    • The first card raised (1-season or 2-season) becomes the binding decision.
    • If exercised, the player joins the former team at the final auction price.
    • If passed, the player goes to the new highest bidder.

FBM Card Availability

The number of FBMs allowed depends on the number of Elite Retained Players (ERPs):

    • 6 ERPs retained → 1 FBM
    • 5 ERPs retained → 2 FBMs
    • 4 or fewer ERPs retained → 3 FBMs

Only UP Yoddhas can use 2 FBMs, while the remaining 11 teams have 3 FBMs available each.

Player Retention Summary

Ahead of the auction, 83 players have been retained across three categories:

    • 25 as Elite Retained Players (ERP)
    • 23 as Retained Young Players (RYP)
    • 35 as New Young Players (NYP)

This leaves up to 217 slots open for franchises to fill during the auction.

Salary Purse and Squad Rules

Each team starts with a ₹5 crore purse, which is adjusted based on retention expenses. Squads must consist of 18 to 25 players, including 2 to 4 overseas players.
