Dabang Delhi's star raider and captain Naveen Kumar is ruled out for the rest of the PKL 2023 season, a statement from Dabang Delhi confirmed on Thursday (January 11).
Naveen Kumar, one of the most coveted raiders in PKL history, injured his knee during a match against Jaipur Pink Panthers, and is now set to be sidelined for more than six months.

"In the aftermath of the injury sustained on December 27th during the match against Jaipur, Naveen Kumar of Dabang Delhi K.C. will not be able to participate further in the ongoing season of Pro Kabaddi League 10. Under the guidance of medical experts, Naveen is set to undergo right-knee ligament surgery, with the management of Dabang Delhi K.C. diligently overseeing his comprehensive treatment plan, including therapies and surgical procedures," a statement from Dabang Delhi read.
Naveen Kumar will be out for at least six months, which means the player may well take around September to return to full fitness following the surgery procedure and rehabilitation.
Mr. Durganath Wagle, C.E.O. of Dabang Delhi Kabaddi Club, stated, "Naveen has been a prominent leader and the key reason behind Dabang Delhi's success over the years. His injury is a blow to our team, and we stand with him during these tough times. His leadership and outstanding performance have been instrumental for us, and we are committed to providing him with the best possible care during his rehabilitation."
Naveen earlier became the fastest player to reach 1000 raid points in PKl history. He also became only the sixth player to record more than 1000 raid points in the tournament.
The Dabangs have also confirmed that Ashu Malik will continue to lead the team in this PKL season. They are placed 2nd in the points table with four consecutive victories but Naveen's departure is a huge blow for them.
