The Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) 2023-24 season has started and we are set to witness some thrilling action across the next three months.

Among the new stars, one player who has been a centre of attraction is UMumba all-rounder Amirmohammad Zafardanesh.

Who is Amirmohammad Zafardanesh?

Amirmohammad Zafardanesh (Amir Mohammad Zafardanesh) is an Iranian kabaddi player, who plays as an all-rounder. Zafardanesh is a decent defender, and his lanky stature makes him a potent raider as well.

Zafardanesh has played for Iran's senior team and was in the squad which won the Silver medal in Asian Games 2023.

The Iranian player has won a Silver medal in World Youth Championship 2023 as well. He is one of the best upcoming Kabaddi players emerging out of Iran and there are high hopes for the youngster.

Amirmohammad Zafardanesh was bought by UMumba in the PKL 2023 auction. The Mumbai-based franchise roped the Iranian for INR 68 Lakh, which makes him one of the highest-earning overseas players in the league.

Amirmohammad Zafardanesh made his PKL debut against UP Warriors on Saturday and he got 12 points in the match. The Iranian managed 11 raid points and also got 1 tackle point.

Zafardanesh was part of the Patna Pirates squad last season but didn't play a game for them.
