The Haryana Steelers claimed the top spot in the standings after a thrilling 37-32 victory over the Patna Pirates at the Noida Indoor Stadium in the PKL 2024 on Wednesday (November 13).
This win marked their fourth consecutive triumph. Key players like Mohammadreza Shadloui, Shivam Patare, Vinay, and Rahul played pivotal roles in overcoming the Pirates.

In a gripping first half, the Haryana Steelers quickly took charge with Vinay's initial points. His two-point raid gave them an early lead, which was briefly matched by Devank for Patna Pirates. However, the Steelers soon regained control and extended their advantage.
Shivam Patare's swift raids and contributions from Rahul and Mohammadreza Shadloui resulted in an ALL OUT against Patna Pirates. This nearly doubled Haryana's lead. Rahul achieved a personal milestone of 150 tackle points in the Pro Kabaddi League during this period.
The first half ended with Haryana leading 20-14, as Patna Pirates managed to stay within reach. The second half saw both teams exchanging blows, but Haryana maintained their lead. Devank's two-point raid reduced the gap to three points for Patna Pirates. Despite a Super Tackle on Ayan that restored Haryana's five-point lead, Patna Pirates remained resilient. They are known for overcoming deficits in PKL 11 and seemed poised for another comeback when they executed an ALL OUT on Haryana Steelers. But that wasn't enough as the Steelers registered their victory.
Meanwhile, Gujarat Giants ended their seven-match losing streak with a commanding 47-28 win over Bengal Warriorz at the same venue in the earlier match. Guman Singh's stellar performance earned him 17 points, supported by High 5s from Himanshu and Jitender Yadav.
The Giants started strong with Guman Singh leading the charge. He secured four quick raid points and helped inflict an early ALL OUT on Bengal Warriorz within five minutes of play. The Giants maintained this momentum throughout the match.
Guman Singh continued his dominance with crucial raids that left Bengal Warriorz vulnerable. Nitin Kumar was tackled by Himanshu for another ALL OUT just before halftime. Guman completed his Super 10 as Gujarat led 24-13 at halftime.
The second half mirrored the first as Himanshu joined in with his High 5 performance. Parteek Dahiya inflicted a third ALL OUT on Bengal Warriorz with a decisive raid against Vishwas S and Nitesh Kumar.
Jitender Yadav's High 5 followed Vishwas S's failed raid attempt, giving Gujarat Giants a comfortable 20-point lead towards the end of the match. Despite Nitin Kumar achieving his Super 10 for Bengal Warriorz, they succumbed to a heavy defeat by 19 points.
