In a dramatic close to the Hyderabad leg, Telugu Titans clinched a narrow 34-33 win over Puneri Paltan, marking their fourth consecutive victory in PKL Season 11. Telugu Titans’ skipper, Pawan Sehrawat, scored a Super 10 with 12 points, while Vijay Malik led the raiding charge with 13 points, both instrumental in their team’s success.
The match kicked off with Puneri Paltan’s Pankaj Mohite executing the first Super Raid of the evening, setting an aggressive tone. Puneri’s Mohit Goyat followed up with a Super Tackle, giving the defending champions an early lead. Despite these moves, Pawan Sehrawat quickly found his rhythm, completing his sixth Super 10 of the season as he led Telugu Titans’ comeback.
The first half was marked by back-and-forth exchanges, culminating in a 20-20 score at halftime. Telugu Titans continued their aggressive play, relying on Pawan’s raids and Ajit Pawar’s defensive tackles. As the match approached its final minutes, Telugu was dealt an ALL OUT but held onto a one-point advantage, securing the win and ending their home leg on a high note.
In another PKL Season 11 clash, Bengal Warriorz produced a dominant performance, defeating Bengaluru Bulls 40-29. The Warriorz relied on a potent raiding duo of Nitin Kumar and Maninder Singh, who scored 14 and 10 points respectively, putting their team in control from the outset.
Bengal took an early lead, finishing the first half at 15-12. Maninder Singh was key in these early stages, racking up 8 points and delivering a pivotal two-point raid that benched Nitin Rawal and Pardeep Narwal. Bengaluru Bulls, despite efforts from Akshit and Ajinkya Pawar, struggled to match Bengal’s raiding efficiency, with Pardeep contributing only 2 points before his substitution.
The second half saw Maninder completing his Super 10, while Bengal inflicted an ALL OUT on Bengaluru early on. Nitin Kumar capitalised on this momentum shift with a powerful Super Raid, taking down multiple defenders. This raid sealed Bengal’s upper hand, extending their lead to an unassailable margin.
Although Akshit responded with quick raids, his efforts were nullified by Bengal’s defensive star Fazel Atrachali, who tackled him, securing another ALL OUT against Bengaluru. Despite a few successful raids by Ajinkya Pawar in the latter stages, the Bulls couldn’t close the gap, and Bengal Warriorz emerged victorious with a comprehensive scoreline.
