PKL 2024: Pawan Sehrawat was not aware about 1200-point milestone as Telugu Titans start with Victory

The Telugu Titans commenced their 11th season in the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) on a high note, securing a victory against the Bengaluru Bulls at Hyderabad's Gachibowli Indoor Stadium on Friday (October 18).

Coach Krishan Kumar Hooda expressed immense satisfaction with his team's performance and the electrifying atmosphere created by the supporters in the stadium, highlighting the collective effort that contributed to their successful start. It was also a massive moment for the team as they have been the underperformers in PKL in the last couple of seasons.

However, the spotlight of the match was on Pawan Sehrawat, whose remarkable performance not only contributed significantly to the team's victory but also saw him enter the PKL records by becoming only the third player to cross the 1200-point milestone in the league's history.

"Before the game, I wasn't even aware that I was closing in on the 1200-point mark for myself. When I came to the stadium, my only focus was to ensure that we as a team do well and come away with the win in the opening game," Pawan said.

The charismatic raider went on to acknowledge the crucial role played by the team's defence, attributing the win to the collective effort of the squad. He emphasized the importance of the defensive unit, which he considers one of the best, in supporting the raiders and attackers throughout the game.

"Our coach has been a pillar of strength for us all through. And I believe, our defensive unit is one of the best, and they supported the raiders and attackers a lot. There will be good and bad days, but our coach and I believe that the defensive set-up is one of the best," he stated, underscoring the balanced strengths of the team.

The Telugu Titans, led by their coach Krishan Kumar Hooda and star player Pawan Sehrawat, have thus laid a strong foundation for their campaign in Season 11 of the PKL. After a couple of dismal seasons, they will have high hopes on turning things around this year.
