By MyKhel Staff

Dabang Delhi K.C. stretched their unbeaten run to six games after a comprehensive win against Jaipur Pink Panthers, dominating the season 9 champions with a scoreline of 35-21 in Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 11 at the Noida Indoor Stadium on Friday (November 22).

Ashu Malik scored 9 points and was supported by Naveen Kumar (4 points) and a Hi-5 from Yogesh for Dabang Delhi in the PKL 2024 contest, while Arjun Deshwal scored 7 points for Jaipur Pink Panthers in a losing cause.

Arjun Deshwal and Ashu Malik got the first points for their respective teams in this contest. It was Jaipur Pink Panthers that got their noses in front courtesy of a tackle on Ashu Malik, while he was on a Do-or-Die Raid. Arjun Deshwal was sent to the bench quickly too, resulting in a slow start as the two teams took a cautious approach.

With Ashu Malik off the mat, it was Naveen Kumar who was keeping the scoreboard ticking for Dabang Delhi K.C. However, Jaipur Pink Panthers regained their lead with Surjeet Singh getting a couple of tackles while Arjun Deshwal, who was doing what he does best.

Dabang Delhi K.C. levelled things up as Yogesh inflicted a Super Tackle on Neeraj Narwal to make it an intense contest. It was the turn of Dabang Delhi K.C. to take the lead courtesy of Ashu Malik doing well on a Do-or-Die Raid.

Arjun Deshwal was unsuccessful in his Do-or-Die Raid, giving the Season 8 champions the initiative to be in the driver's seat. Dabang Delhi K.C. inflicted an ALL OUT as Ashu Malik continued his good work, helping his team take control of the game and extending their lead to nine points with the scoreline reading 17-9 at half time.

Dabang Delhi K.C. started off the second half in a similar dominant manner, extending their lead to eleven points with Ashu Malik and Ashish Malik delivering the goods. They got another ALL OUT on the Jaipur Pink panthers, making it a massive fourteen-point lead, as the raiders kept them in command of the contest.

Arjun Deshwal came back in the game and managed to find his rhythm, trying to keep his team alive with the defenders contributing as well. Jaipur Pink Panthers managed close the gap to eleven points, keeping the game alive with under ten minutes to go.

The hopes of a comeback didn't last for too long for Jaipur Pink Panthers because the Dabang Delhi K.C. team kept their discipline on the defensive end. Arjun Deshwal did get some raids as the game carried on, but it wasn't enough for his side to close the gap on their opponents.

Ashu Malik couldn't complete his Super 10 in the closing stages of the game, but his teammate Yogesh did manage to register a Hi-5 to his name. In the end, Dabang Delhi K.C. sealed a fourteen-point victory to carry on their good form.

UP Yoddhas crushed Tamil Thalaivas

Earlier on Friday (November 22), the UP Yoddhas left the home fans grinning after they secured a very impressive 40-24 victory over the Tamil Thalaivas in Match 69 of PKL 11 at the Noida Indoor Stadium.

It was a Super 10 from Bhavani Rajput that left the spectators on the edge of their seats, but he was ably supported by his teammates in what was a complete performance from the team. For the Tamil Thalaivas, young Nitesh Kumar was a bright spark with a High 5 to his name.

UP Yoddhas in action against Tamil Thalaivas

A strategic approach from both teams defined the first half of the match as the UP Yoddhas and the Tamil Thalaivas' raiders took the game to the Do-Or-Die raid. In the 10th minute however, the tide shifted when Vishal Chahal executed a successful raid, eliminating Sumit from the opposition. This breakthrough set the tone for a more aggressive phase of the half.

UP Yoddhas initially rode on the raiding prowess of Bharat - who got Anuj Gawade off the mat - as the side began to take an early lead over the Tamil Thalaivas but not for long.

Around the 17-minute mark, the intensity peaked with successive successful raids as Sachin eliminated Bhavani Rajput, while Bharat took out Amir Hossein Bastami, and an equally fought clash finished 13-13 in the first half.

It was in the second half that the UP Yoddhas upped the ante with the win on their minds. Two minutes into the second half, they inflicted the ALL OUT on the Tamil Thalaivas. This was the start of an impressive period of play for the home team, as Bhavani Rajput in raid, and Hitesh in defence, took the game to their opponents.

An unsuccessful raid by Sachin Tanwar brought up a well-earned High 5 for Hitesh. This gave the UP Yoddhas side incentive to push for another ALL OUT on the Tamil Thalaivas, which was eventually inflicted after an excellent raid by Bhavani to get Abhishek M and Nitesh Kumar.

Having taken a substantial lead, the onus was on the home side to close out the game. Bhavani completed his Super 10 with another two-point raid, as they closed out a much-needed victory by a massive difference of 16 points.
