As the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) gears up for its 11th season, the PKL 2024 auction has once again underscored the diversity and depth of talent across India.
This season, a total of 218 Indian players were drafted into various teams, with Haryana leading the pack by contributing an impressive 106 players. A total of 13 states and 2 Union Territories have representatives in PKL 2024.

The kabaddi powerhouse Haryana continues to dominate the league, contributing 106 players, with major teams like Patna Pirates (16 players) and Jaipur Pink Panthers (14 players) heavily relying on Haryana's talent pool. The Indian state has been the abode for Kabaddi for a long time and there is no surprise to see almost 50 per cent of athletes from the single state.
Known for its vibrant kabaddi culture, Maharashtra has 39 players in the league. Puneri Paltan and U Mumba, representing the state, have 9 and 5 players respectively from Maharashtra, showcasing their strong local ties. Bengal Warriors also have a mammoth 9 players in the PKL 2024.
With 22 players, Tamil Nadu has made a significant impact this season. Teams like Bengaluru Bulls and Telugu Titans have tapped into this talent pool.
Contributing 21 players, Uttar Pradesh has seen a steady rise in representation. Teams like Bengal Warriors and Patna Pirates have recruited players from this region.
Rajasthan has provided 9 players, with teams like Haryana Steelers and Jaipur Pink Panthers benefiting from their skills.
The state has 5 players in the league, a modest yet vital contribution to teams like Bengaluru Bulls.
Himachal Pradesh will have five representatives in the PKL 2024. Bengal Warriors and UP Yoddhas have two each whereas Haryana Steelers have one in the team as well.
The capital city has 3 players, with Dabang Delhi K.C. leading the charge.
With 2 players, the northernmost state has made its presence felt, reflecting the growing popularity of kabaddi in the region. Both of the Jammu & Kashmir players will represent Jaipur Pink Panthers.
These states have each contributed 1 player to the league, showcasing the widespread reach of kabaddi across the country.
Interestingly, there is not a single representative of Bengal in PKL 2024. Apart from Bengal, there are no representatives of Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha in the Kabaddi league.
