Ahmedabad, November 21: Iranian stars Fazel Atrachali and Mohammad Nabibaksh have linked up with their new team Gujarat Giants for a camp ahead of the landmark Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 10.

Gujarat Giants, who have managed runner up finishes, splashed the cash during the two-day auction to land the Iran stars. They bought 'Sultan' Atrachali for Rs 1.60 Crore, and Nabibaksh for Rs 22 Lakhs.

With an aim to land the elusive PKL title, the Giants also added more steel to their defence by bringing in seasoned defender Ravi Kumar to play alongside Atrachali and the likes of Sombir, Rakesh and Parteek Dahiya among others.

Following his move to the Giants, Fazel, who spent a season with Gujarat Giants, was thrilled to be back with the franchise and heaped praise on his new team as he recalled the memories from his last stint.

"I am extremely happy to join Gujarat Giants. They are a very good team. I played with them for a season, and they know how to take care of the players. I have a very good feeling about this move," Fazel had said earlier.

"I have a lot of good memories from my time with Gujarat Giants during Season 5. Our defense was the best during that season, which was also the first season for the franchise. We even reached the final and played well but were unfortunate to have lost."

The Gujarat Giants team coached by the astute tactician Ram Mehar Singh is currently going through a very intense and well planned out training camp during the pre-season, with the players fully focused on their tasks.

The PKL's 10th Season will begin in Ahmedabad, which is the home ground for the Gujarat Giants, and they will no doubt look to begin with a bang. The squad has a healthy mix of experience and youth, and the players will be raring to go by the time December 2nd comes around.

Gujarat Giants, the 2017 and 2018 runners up, will look to better that record when they kick start their season 10 campaign at the Arena by Transstadia in Ahmedabad, where they face Telugu Titans on December 2, 2023.

Unlike the previous two seasons that were held in limited venues, the landmark season will see the league return to caravan format of matches being held across all the 12 teams' home venues.
