Pro Kabaddi Auction 2024: What is The Remaining Purse of All 12 Teams Heading Into Day 2 of PKL Season 11 Player Auction?

The Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 11 player auction heads into day 2 as all 12 teams look to add players from Category C and D during the bidding process on Friday (August 16) in Mumbai.

On day 1 of the PKL Season 11 Player Auction, Tamil Thalaivas splashed the cash on raider Sachin Tawar as a record-breaking eight crorepatis emerged for the first time in a single day in the Pro Kabaddi Auction history.

Pawan Sehrawat and Maninder Singh were retained by their former sides via Final Bid Match (FBM) cards during the auction, while Pardeep Narwal returned to where it all started for the record-breaker in PKL.

Iranian duo of Fazel Atrachali and Mohammadreza Shadloui found new homes like Bharat Hooda, Ajinkya Ashok Pawar, Guman Singh and several others in Category A and B.

As mentioned earlier, eight players breached the crore-mark in one day of the auction for the first time as Sachin, Shadloui, Guman Singh, Bharat, Sunil Kumar, Pawan Sehrawat, Maninder and Ajinkya Pawar all fetched upwards of Rs 1 Crore at the auction.

With more money and slots left to be filled, there could be some more players who could fetch big money during day 2 of the auction. Here is a look at the remaining purse of all 12 teams heading into second day of the PKL Auction 2024:

  • Bengal Warriorz: Rs 1.971 Crore
  • Bengaluru Bulls: Rs 1.21 Crore
  • Dabang Delhi: Rs 2.168 Crore
  • Gujarat Giants: Rs 1.911 Crore
  • Haryana Steelers: Rs 49.591 Lakh
  • Jaipur Pink Panthers: Rs 1.691 Crore
  • Patna Pirates: Rs 2.875 Crore
  • Puneri Paltan: Rs 1.858 Crore
  • Tamil Thalaivas: Rs 41.944 Lakh
  • Telugu Titans: Rs 1.194 Crore
  • U Mumba: Rs 1.059 Crore
  • UP Yoddhas: Rs 1.466 Crore

Having splashed the biggest money, Tamil Thalaivas enter day 2 of the auction with the least amount of money left in their purse. But the Thalaivas have already added 15 players and need just 3 more for the minimum squad limit.

Haryana Steelers also go into the second day of the plaeyer auction with a low fund remaining in their budget. The last season's runners up also need just 5 more players to fulfill their squad strength.

Despite only a little left in their purse, Steelers and Thalaivas are expected to add more players with Category C and D players, starting at a lower base price of Rs 13 Lakh and Rs 9 Lakh respectively.

Gujarat Giants, who have just 7 players in the squad as it stands, is expected to be the most busiest side on day 2 of PKL 2024 auction. Each team can have a minimum of 18 players and a maximum of 25 players in their squad for the season. Here is a look at the squad strength of each team after day 1 of the auction:

  • Dabang Delhi: 11 players (remaining slots - minimum 7, maximum - 14)
  • Gujarat Giants: 7 players (remaining slots - minimum 11, maximum - 18)
  • Haryana Steelers: 13 players (remaining slots - minimum 5, maximum - 12)
  • Jaipur Pink Panthers: 10 players (remaining slots - minimum 8, maximum - 15)
  • Patna Pirates: 11 players (remaining slots - minimum 7, maximum - 14)
  • Puneri Paltan: 13 players (remaining slots - minimum 5, maximum - 12)
  • Tamil Thalaivas: 15 players (remaining slots - minimum 3, maximum - 10)
