Bengaluru, July 3: The new season of vivo Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) is scheduled to start later this year, but before that, the build for the upcoming campaign starts with Season 10 PKL Player Auction.
PKL started as an eight franchise tournament back in 2014 and has since 2017 expanded to a twelve franchise tournament with the addition of four new teams, making the league even bigger with more stars on display.

During Season 9 auction, high-flier Pawan Sehrawat was picked up by Tamil Thalaivas for a whopping Rs 2.26 crore, making him the most expensive player in PKL history. Vikash Kandola was the second expensive pick by Bengaluru Bulls for Rs 1.70 Crore.
PKL season 9 finished late last year in December and was the second edition since the tournament returned from COVID pandemic enforced hiatus of two years. Jaipur Pink Panthers defeated multi-Puneri Paltan in the final to clinch their second PKL title last season.
Now, as the stage is set for PKL to return within a year after last season, here is a look at the Pro Kabaddi League 2023 auction date, time, rules, base price, salary purse, players retention details:
The two day PKL Season 10 Player Auction, which will see over 500 players go through the bidding process, will take place on September 8th and 9th in Mumbai.
Like seasons 8 and 9, the Season 10 Player Pool will consist of 500+ players including the 24 players from the two finalist teams of the Khelo India University Games 2023.
The total Salary Purse available to each franchise for its squad has increased from Rs 4.4 Crore to Rs 5 Crore after three seasons. So, each franchise will have a purse of a maximum of INR 5 Crore depending on their retentions.
The Season 10 Player Auctions will see Domestic, Overseas, and New Young Players (NYPs) divided into four categories: Category A, B, C and D. Within each category, the players will be further sub-divided as 'All-Rounders', 'Defenders' and 'Raiders'.
