Pro Kabaddi League: Anup Kumar, Rishank Devadiga thank PKL for fame and recognition

Former India Kabaddi star and legend Anup Kumar owed his gratitude towards the Pro Kabaddi League and thanked the competition for making a meaningful experience in his life.

The Kabaddi star was accompanied with Rishank Devadiga and Pawan Sehrawat, who also spoke highly about the competition, which changed the dynamics of Kabaddi in India.

The high-octane, action-packed sport came to nationwide recognition through the PKL and since its inception, it has become a major hit. And the players associated with Kabaddi have also received a much greater financial security and fame courtesy of the franchise tournament.

Speaking exclusively to Star Sports Former India star player and current coach of PKL team Puneri Paltan, Anup Kumar, spoke about the recognition he received from playing in the PKL.

"If I have to talk about myself, I feel immense happiness for the recognition and fame I've gained from playing in the PKL. People now know me just by my name. This experience has been incredibly rewarding and meaningful for me," Anup said.

Indian Kabaddi Star Rishank Devadiga shared his thoughts on the nervousness surrounding the auction process and his experience with it.

He said, "The feeling during an auction is different because players are often anxious about which team they'll join and how much they'll be bid for. As a player, I've experienced that same excitement and nervousness on auction day, so I know exactly how it feels. This season, we'll see some big names in the auction, and that excitement and nervousness will definitely be on the minds of all the players as they wonder which team they'll end up with."

Reflecting on how the PKL has changed his life and the lives of other players, he said, "The dreams we had-buying a house, buying a car-have been fulfilled. I've witnessed the journey of every player who's been part of the PKL, and their lives have been completely transformed. My life has changed dramatically since I joined the PKL; I became a recognized player. In the beginning, when we started playing Kabaddi, we never imagined we'd get such a big opportunity. When the PKL started, we only knew we'd get a chance to play and appear on TV, which was a huge deal for us. But after the first season, life changed completely. Financially, players became much stronger. Wherever we go, we're recognized, and fans come to ask for our autographs. It's an incredible feeling."

Speaking exclusively to Star Sports Indian Kabaddi star Pawan Sehrawat shared his thoughts on how the PKL has brought recognition to him and other Kabaddi players.

"The arrival of PKL has changed my life significantly. People have started following us; we've become much more well-known. I've seen this change not just in myself, but in other players too. Wherever I go, whether it's an international or local tournament, people now recognize who I am," the scintillating raider said.
