Pro Kabaddi League has insipred women to take up sport across the world, says Iran Women's Kabaddi Team

Mumbai, August 7: The Iranian women's kabaddi team on Sunday (August 6) said Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) has inspired many women to take up the sport across the world.

The Iranian women's kabaddi team is currently on a tour to Mumbai and Pune. During their visit, they have organized several friendly matches to improve their skills and develop a strong competitive spirit. The tour began on from 4th August and is set to go on for week till 11th August 2023.

During an interview at one of their friendly games, Zahra Rahiminejadnoudijeh, the Team Manager for the Iranian women's kabaddi team expressed her admiration for India as a kabaddi nation.

She mentioned how wonderful it was to be in India and explained that her team has been facing tough competition from various teams on this tour, which has allowed them to learn valuable lessons.

"We have always looked up to India as a kabaddi nation and it's fantastic to be here. Our team has been facing intense competition from various teams and the players are getting to learn a lot on this tour," Zahra said in a release.

Zahra also discussed the impact of the Pro Kabaddi League on women's kabaddi players in Iran and hopes there will be a women's PKL soon to take the sport to new heights.

"The Pro Kabaddi League is very famous in our country. The league has made kabaddi very thrilling and we always look forward to watching all seasons," Zahra added.

"The league has also inspired many women to take up kabaddi in Iran and across the world. Hopefully, we'll have a women's Pro Kabaddi League soon. All our players are very excited to be a part of it and take women's kabaddi to the next level."

This year marks the tenth season of the highly anticipated Pro Kabaddi League. The PKL Season 10 Player Auction is scheduled to take place from 8th - 9th September 2023 in Mumbai with season likely to begin later in the year.
