Yuva Kabaddi Series Monsoon Edition 2023: Top Five Youngsters who impressed

The 2023 Yuva Kabaddi Series Monsoon Edition provided a phenomenal showcasing of upcoming Kabaddi stars from India, grabbing the attention of spectators and keeping them enthralled throughout the championship.

The groundbreaking tournament, which took place in Madurai, involved over 300 players engaging in heart-pounding Kabaddi in 132 matches between 16 teams. The winner, Aravalli Arrows, reigned supreme, clutching the dazzling trophy.

Demonstrating remarkable skills in the Monsoon Edition, Rohit Yadav, Sandeep Kumar, and Kunal Bhati were selected by teams in the Pro Kabaddi League.

Below is a list of the top five athletes from the 2023 Yuva Kabaddi Series Monsoon Edition:

1) Arjun Rathee (Chola Veerans)

Arjun Rathee's performance stood out in the competition, scoring a whopping total of 197 points, which included 141 touchpoints, 54 bonus points, and two tackle points in 18 matches. This 21-year-old player from Haridwar, Uttrakhand aspires to emulate his icon, Deepak Niwas Hooda, by representing the Indian Kabaddi Team. Despite failing to make it to the finals, Arjun shone by scoring the highest points in the tournament, displaying his prowess with the 'Dubki'.

2) Suresh Oruganti (Vijayanagara Veers)

Suresh Oruganti, a raider from Telangana, capitalized his extensive reach to accumulate 193 points in 17 matches. His contribution to Vijayanagara Veers was remarkable - 142 touch points, 50 bonus points, and a tackle point. Inspired by the former Indian cricket captain, MS Dhoni, he remains resilient despite life's challenges and intends to maintain his top-notch performance in his Kabaddi career.

3) Sonu Rathee (Murthal Magnets)

Carrying on a family tradition in the sport, Sonu Rathee played a significant role in Murthal Magnets reaching the 2023 finals. Originally from Haryana, this 16-year-old defender scored an impressive total of 101 points, including 97 tackle points, and four raid points in 23 matches. His 59.24 percent tackle success rate speaks for his dedication and tactics.

4) Lokesh Ghosliya (Aravalli Arrows)

Coming from a humble farming background in Rajasthan, 18-year-old Lokesh Ghosliya ensured Aravalli Arrows climbed the pedestal by winning the trophy. Ghosliya's determination and physical strength brought his total point tally to 71, including 68 tackle points and three raid points in 20 matches.

5) Vishva Asalavan (Palani Tuskers)

Vishva Asalavan, a 21-year-old raider from Tamil Nadu, showed his potential to be a future star in the sport as part of the Palani Tuskers team.

Kabaddi

Inspired by Ajay Thakur, he aspires to represent his country. In 18 matches, Asalavan pulled off a total of 153 points--126 touch points and 27 bonus points.
