In 2018 and 2019, Aegy received a sporting achievement award from the Indonesian Ministry of Youth and Sports. This recognition came as a result of her impressive performances at international events during those years.
Aegy faced significant challenges at the 2019 World Championships in Dubai, UAE. She contracted flu soon after arriving, which disrupted her preparations. Due to doping regulations, she couldn't take any medicine and had to rest instead. Despite these setbacks, she won gold in the T63 100m event.
"There was the doping test, so I couldn't take any medicine. I could only rest. I skipped several training sessions because of my weak condition," Aegy said. "I was very pessimistic knowing my rivals were veterans in the event and that this was my first world championships. I'm grateful that I can give my best for my country."
Looking ahead, Aegy aims to continue competing at the highest levels of Para athletics. She remains committed to her sport and is determined to achieve even greater success in future competitions.
Aegy's journey from a novice athlete to a world champion is a testament to her dedication and resilience. Her story serves as an inspiration for aspiring athletes everywhere.
