Kimberly Alkemade Biography

Kimmy's passion for sprinting ignited quickly. "I felt very passionate in a short time about sprinting. I felt like I was free, and I thought, 'Wow, this is so cool! I want to run hard and fast, I want more of that'," she said. Her prosthetist played a crucial role by giving her a second-hand blade after insurance issues.

Training and Coaching

Kimmy trains under Joep Janssen at her club, Prins Hendrik Vught, and Fynn van Buuren at the national level. She supplements her training with yoga and pilates to maintain flexibility and strength. This holistic approach has helped her stay fit and competitive.

One of Kimmy's most memorable moments was participating in her first international competition at the 2019 Grand Prix in Nottwil. This event marked the beginning of her international career and set the stage for future successes.

Kimmy believes that "Fear is a compass pointing you to the areas where you need to grow." In 2017, she launched a personal training business called Moving for Growth. She aims to help people grow through exercise and lifestyle adjustments.
