100 nations to take part in CISM

Vijayawada, July 13: About 100 countries will participate in the IV Conseil International Do Sport Militaire (CISM), the World Military Games, to be held in Hyderabad from October 14 to 21.

Informing this to reporters here today, Col. Rajesh Sharma of the Kumaon Regiment said about 6000 athletes, including World Championship medallists, would participate in the event.

This is the first time an Asian country is hosting the event.

Boxing, football, handball, judo, military pentathlon, parachuting, shooting, aquatics, track and field (athletics), volleyball and wrestling would be held at Gachibowli main and indoor stadiums, Lal Bahadur Stadium, Yousufguda Indoor Stadium, Saroornagar Stadium and HCU shooting range at Hyderabad.

However, the water sporting event would be held in Mumbai.
