Countdown Begins: 100 Days Until The Dubai T100 Triathlon Returns With Exciting Events

The Dubai T100 Triathlon is set to return in 100 days, featuring a Guinness World Record attempt and the popular Music Run. This event promotes community fitness and showcases elite athletes.

The Dubai T100 Triathlon is set to return from November 13 to 16, marking a significant event in the triathlon calendar. Ghani Souleymane, a renowned endurance athlete from the UAE, is embarking on an ambitious challenge. He aims to complete 100 consecutive 100km triathlons in as many days, culminating with his participation in the Dubai T100 on November 16.

Starting at Kite Beach, this attempt will not only be a Guinness World Record bid but also a fundraising effort for children affected by conflict. Each day, Ghani will follow the official T100 format: a 2km swim, an 80km bike ride, and an 18km run, totalling an incredible 10,000km over the course of the challenge.

Dubai T100 Triathlon Returns in 100 Days

The Dubai T100 is part of the global T100 Triathlon World Tour and is supported by the Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO). It combines elite racing with mass participation and offers a vibrant festival atmosphere against Dubai's iconic skyline. The event also aligns with the Dubai Fitness Challenge, encouraging residents to engage in daily physical activity.

On November 13, the Corporate Duathlon Relay will take place. This team-based event is powered by Dubai Eye 103.8FM and targets Dubai's business community. On November 15, participants can join the Sprint Triathlon featuring a 750m swim, a 20km bike ride, and a 5km run—ideal for beginners.

The same day will see elite athletes compete in the T100 Pro Race. Top triathletes will face off in this penultimate race of the season as they vie for positions in the Race to Qatar. The competition includes a gruelling course of a 2km swim, an 80km bike ride, and an 18km run.

Also on November 15, The Music Run returns with its high-energy atmosphere filled with music zones and DJs. Over 6,000 runners participated last year. On November 16, amateur athletes will tackle the full T100 distance on the same course used by professionals.

Last week marked another milestone for PTO as they completed a Series C funding round led by SURJ Sports Investment alongside Sir Michael Moritz and others. This investment aims to expand globally and innovate formats like The Music Run and Corporate Relay.

"As we scale globally," said Sam Renouf, CEO of PTO, "we're more committed than ever to making triathlon accessible to everyone." He added that Ghani's challenge embodies what T100 stands for—elite sport that inspires community and purpose.

Anticipation Builds for Dubai Event

Dubai serves as one of the final stops on the T100 World Tour before December's Qatar Championship Final. Athletes will race on one of the fastest courses centred around Meydan Racecourse. Julie Derron praised last year's event as unforgettable due to its fast pace and world-class setup.

"The atmosphere in Dubai makes it one of the best events," said Julie Derron. She looks forward to returning after finishing second last year. With registration open and spots filling quickly, now is an ideal time for participants to commit.

The PTO aims to elevate triathlon through its co-owned structure by professional athletes. Its T100 Triathlon World Tour was introduced in January 2024 as part of a strategic partnership with World Triathlon.
