12 Services rowers injured in road accident near Games village

Guwahati, Feb 11 (UNI) At least 12 athletes of the Services rowing team were hurt, three of them critically, when the bus they were traveling in overturned after hitting the divider of the road, just one kilometer away from the Games village here today.

Sources said the bus, which was proceeding Deepor Beel to the Games village after the morning practice session, was going at normal speed, but suddenly lost control on the National Highway road and overturned.

Of the 12 injured, condition of three of them is said to be critical and they were shifted to Guwahati Neurological Research Center (GNRC).

The Services were the front-runners for bagging the gold medal in the rowing event.
