12 teams in fray for inter-varsity basketball tourney

Chennai, Dec 10 (UNI) Twelve teams will vie for honours in the Tamil Nadu Inter-University Basektball men's tournament to be held at Sathyabama University campus at suburban Sholinganallur from December 12 to 15.

A release today said the tournament would be held on knock-out basis from super league.

Four teams would figure in the super league and the teams with maximum wins in the league would be declared the winner.

Following are the teams: Annamalai University (Chidambaram), Bharath University (Chennai), Bharathiyar (Coimbatore), Bharathidasan (Trichy), Gandhigram Rural (Dindigul), Madras University, SRM University, Sastra University (Thanjavur), Vellore Institute of Technology, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (Coimbatore), Tamil Nadu Physical Education University and Sathyabama University.

The four-day tournament would be inaugurated by actor S Sibi Raj in the presence of Sathyabama University Founder and Chancellor Jeppiar, the release added.
