Singapore, July 30: It is pre-season friendly time all over Europe. Although, we should not judge anything from the results, this is an ideal time for the managers to try different things and assess their squads.

Premier League champions Chelsea are not having the best pre-season at all and to add further woes to them, they were beaten by Inter Milan 2-1 yesterday (July 29).

As Chelsea were huffing and puffing their way to another pre-season defeat on the patchy turf of the National Stadium in Singapore, Inter midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia grabbed the headlines with an insane own goal.

Inter took the lead at the end of the first half, when former Manchester City forward Stevan Jovetic tucked home the rebound after his penalty had been saved by Thibaut Courtois. Manchester United target Ivan Perisic doubled the lead with a low shot early in the second half.

It was quite astonishing to see Chelsea been dominated throughout the game by an Inter side that failed to impress last season in Serie A.

Despite playing a strong XI, Chelsea could not score a single goal themselves. If not for Frenchman Kondogbia, it would have been an impressive clean sheet for Inter keeper Daniele Padelli.

The Frenchman did not start the game but definitely made a big impact off the bench in a way he never wanted.

Inter were 2-0 up at the time when the Frenchman received a pass 40 yards from his own net. he substitute attempted a back pass to Daniele Padelli but massively overhit the ball.

It flew over the Italian shot-stopper and into the top corner but not just into the right net!
