20,000 athletes in fray for Mini Marathon on Feb 24

Chennai, Feb 16 (UNI) About 20,000 athletes in the men, women, Boys and Girls Under-18 and 14 age groups will be vying for honours in the Kanyakumari Mini Marathon 2007 to be held in Nagercoil on February 24.

According to Tamil Nadu Athletic Association Secretary C Neelasivalingaswamy, while the Mini Marathon for men will start in front of the Gandhi Mandapam in Kanyakumari at 1600hrs, the races for women, junior boys and girls will start at 1630 hrs in Suchindram and end in Anna stadium at Nagercoil.

For the men and women cash awards would be given upto 10th position, for the Boys and Girls Under-18 upto 25th position and the Boys and Girls Under-14 upto 100th position.

Outstanding sportspersons and sports philanthropists would be honoured on the occasion.
