Nadal reaches final after Djokovic retires

LONDON, July 7 (Reuters) Second seed Rafael Nadal reached the Wimbledon final today after Serb Novak Djokovic retired hurt with the Spaniard leading their semi-final 3-6 6-1 4-1.

Nadal will play top seed Roger Federer in tomorrow's final.

Djokovic called the trainer at the end of the second set to receive treatment on his toe.

After being broken twice in the third set following a series of fluffed shots and looking increasingly uncomfortable, the Serb recalled the trainer but then decided he could not continue.

He is the first player to retire hurt from a men's semi-final at Wimbledon in the professional era.

Djokovic came into the match having played a five-hour five-set quarter-final against Marcos Baghdatis yesterday and another lengthy four-set match in the previous round against Lleyton Hewitt.
