Vaishnavi Pawar, an emerging talent in Indian archery, recently spotlighted her skills on an international platform, helping her team secure a silver medal at the Asian Youth Archery Championship held in Taipei City, Chinese Taipei.
The competition saw the Indian recurve U-18 women's team, including Vaishnavi, Pranjal Tholiya, and Jannat, showcasing exceptional teamwork and resilience, especially during their remarkable victory over South Korea in the semi-finals which advanced them to the final round.

The journey to the podium was fraught with challenges, as the team faced a tough match against the hosts in the final. Despite trailing with a score of 2-4, the Indian trio managed to level the playing field and push the match to a shoot-off.
However, the host team eventually clinched the gold, leaving the Indian team with a well-earned silver medal. Vaishnavi, taking the lead shot in every round, demonstrated remarkable composure under pressure, a quality that significantly contributed to the team's success.
Expressing her pride in representing India and the team's achievements, Vaishnavi shared her gratitude towards the Punit Balan Group for their support.
"I am incredibly proud to represent India alongside my teammates. Beating South Korea in the semi-finals was a significant milestone for us, and we are determined to keep striving for more.
"I am especially grateful for the unwavering support from the Punit Balan Group, which has been instrumental in my journey thus far. Winning silver at the Asian Youth Archery Championship is a testament to our hard work and dedication, and it inspires me to aim even higher in the future," she stated.
The Punit Balan Group, recognizing Vaishnavi's potential, began financially supporting her in July of the previous year. This support has covered the costs of training, competitions, equipment, and other necessary resources.
The Group's backing has been pivotal in Vaishnavi's development as an athlete. Punit Balan, the chairman and managing director, expressed immense pride in Vaishnavi's accomplishments, highlighting her potential to excel on the world stage.
"It's a proud moment for us that Vaishnavi has made India proud by helping the team win a silver medal in Chinese Taipei. The level of competition at the Asian level is strong and Vaishnavi showed that she has the potential to beat the best in the business on the world stage," he remarked.
Balan further committed to continuing their support for Vaishnavi, aiming to assist her in achieving her dreams of representing India at the world championships and the Olympics.
"We will extend all help required to Vaishnavi to fulfil her dream of representing the country and winning medals at the world championships and the Olympics and this result only shows that she is on the right path," he added.
Vaishnavi, who hails from Malkapur Village in Maharashtra's Latur district and now trains in Pune, not only excelled in the team category but also made a significant mark in the individual category by reaching the quarter-finals.
Her fourth-place finish in the trials to make it to the Asian Youth Archery Championships underscores her dedication and talent in the sport.
