Jitender bows out on points to Romanian

Sydney: Jitender Kumar of India on Friday went down fighting to swift punching Adrian Diaconu of Romania on points in the middleweight (75-kg) class boxing championships at the Olympics.

Jitinder, who had overwhelmed his Canadian rival in the opening fight of the Games in just two rounds, on Friday failed to match the hard and swift punching Romanian.

At the end of the mandatory four rounds, Jitender could only score three points while the Romanian notched up 12 points to emerge winner.
