Sydney: Venus Williams of the United States defeated Spain's Aranxta Sanchez-Vicario 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 to enter the semi-finals of the women's singles in the Olympic tennis tournament here on Sunday.

Williams will now meet compatriot Monica Seles in the semis.
