250 players to face off in FIDE Chess tourney

Kozhikode, Jan 19 (UNI) 250 players from various parts of the country would vie for honours in the International FIDE-rated Chess Tournament beginning at Palghat on January 26.

Palghat Chess Academy Organising Committee Director T R Radhakrishan and Secretary P Venugopalan today said the Kerala Electricity Minister A K Balan would inaugurate the six-day event.

A total prize money of Rs 75,000 would be at stake for winners in the event, the release added.
