Sydney: Senior officials behind the Sydney Olympics could be offered consultancy contracts for the Athens Games in 2004, Australia's 'Daily Telegraph' reported on Monday.
The International Olympic Committee had approached New South Wales police chief Peter Ryan to provide advice on security for the Athens Games and was expected to talk to other leading officials involved with the Sydney Olympics, the newspaper said.
It said the Australian Sports Commission had signed a memorandum of understanding with Greece on Sunday about sports co-operation.
Senior IOC official Jacques Rogge was quoted as saying the IOC wanted "key people in key areas" of the Sydney Games to help provide advice for Athens and two forthcoming Winter Games, in Salt Lake City in 2002 and in Turin in 2006.
No one from the IOC or Sydney Games was immediately available for comment.
