3 Show-Stopping Fights You Can’t Miss at ONE 172: Rodtang vs Takeru

The stage is set, and the action is about to unfold. The world's greatest martial artists have gathered in Japan for the blockbuster ONE 172: Rodtang vs. Takeru on Sunday, 23 March.

The global pay-per-view air lives on watch.onefc.com from the iconic Saitama Super Arena. A five-round flyweight kickboxing super-fight between Rodtang Jitmuangnon and Takeru Segawa, along with five electrifying World Title fights, headlines the event.

Additionally, several other bouts have the potential to be the Fight of the Year contenders on the undercard of the upcoming ONE 172 event. Let's take a look at some of these matchups:

Marat Grigorian vs Kaito Ono

Kickboxing legend Marat Grigorian faces a tough challenge when he returns to Japan for his upcoming fight. The Armenian great locks horns with Japanese sensation Kaito Ono in a featherweight kickboxing fight. Both highly skilled strikers could blow the roof off with their performance.

Grigorian has faced and defeated some of the world's best kickboxers. However, Ono won't be an easy opponent for the former ONE World Title challenger. The Japanese sensation boasts a record of 59-8 and has never been knocked out. A win over Grigorian could send his name into the stratosphere.

Rak Erawan vs Nadaka Yoshinari

It's hard to believe that Nadaka Yoshinari hasn't lost a single fight since 2019 and is currently on a 35-fight win streak. Now, this winning machine makes his highly anticipated debut in ONE Championship against Thai phenom Rak Erawan in an atomweight Muay Thai bout.

At just 24, Yoshinari has won the Rajadamnern Stadium and Lumpinee Stadium Muay Thai World Titles, as well as the WMC and WBC Muay Thai World Titles. Japan's best Muay Thai fighter boasts an outstanding record of 61-6 with 40 knockouts. A finish is almost guaranteed in this fight.

Suriyanlek Por Yenying vs Ryusei

If Suriyanlek Por Yenying's last comeback win against Thant Zin is any indication, then his show opener against Ryusei will be a barnburner. The Thai star challenges the Japanese kickboxer in a 132-pound kickboxing bout.

The ISKA K-1 World Champion has lost only a single match in his 19-fight professional career. He has a knack for finishing his opponents, and Suriyanlek will be a great dance partner for him. His opponent has been a mainstay in ONE with a record of 7-3.
